    Author Stephen K. Hayes here…

Why is it so important for a martial artist to have a set of life codes that go along with physical training in self-defense?

Can you imagine giving a child a shotgun without instruction in how to handle it safely? That’s why we have the 14-point Code of Mindful Action.

Can you imagine trying to live heroically with no guidance in how would-be heroes often fail? That’s why we have the Code of Heroic Living.

And what of Life Mastery (8 aspects), and converting normally negative personality aspects into positive powers (5 directions)?

This book also works for all your friends not quite ready to join you in the dojo yet.
What if there were a system for being ready to make the best out of every moment of life?

Please leave your review here, with an angle towards sharing how these codes have affected the direction and quality of your life.

“How To Own The World… a Code for Taking the Path of the Spiritual Explorer” by An-shu Stephen K. Hayes is a classic illustration of the adage that our initial interpretation of appearances are often deceiving. This is much more than a “read once… got that” text destined to occupy a shelf. It is a profoundly subtle guidebook for the interpretation of life and the application of essential sciences in the quest for the realization of our latent potential. I return to it often – no longer as the passive reader, but as an actively engaged co-explorer, possessing greater awareness and appreciation for the precious treasures contained within.

HTOTW is a go-to resource for getting back to really down-to-earth, in-the-trenches methods for how an in-charge, positive person might go about commanding every single aspect of their life! Nothing like this book out there, for sure. In other books and resources, the keys given in HTOTW can get bogged down in lots of jargon, obscure explanations, and confusing analysis. Lots can get “lost in translation”. Not here though. The 14 Point Code clearly helps me every day to stay out my own way, and not “accidentally” create more stress and heartache both for myself and everyone I encounter- The 8 Ways to direct my energy to stop stress and take charge show me exactly how I can recalibrate and recreate my life, right now- right here. For me, they’re a constant reminder of what I want to be careful with in regard to my general outlook on life, as well as what I’m putting out there with what I do, say and think. It’s a blueprint to follow and refer back to when I lose my way, or get knocked around a bit by “life”. The book gives me 6 more ideals to extend my energy positively out to all others and grow even more as a postive influence in my world. I think it also keeps me “on-guard” for hidden traps I could fall into if I’m not clear. The 5 Protections are a tool I use to keep myself psychologically shielded as I work on hopefully making the world better. They protect me from my own negative internal habits and stories, and protect me from the “outside” blocks too. I use those 5 everyday as a counselor working with lots of people unloading their stress and heartache. Keeps me centered, even when I hear aweful stuff. If something in you calls out to take the scary step of taking responsibility for yourself and what comes into your world- at ever deeper and deeper levels- you’ll come back to this book again and again. Thank you Stephen K. Hayes!
